Aesthetical illustrated branding
Lighthouse is the well-known restaurant in Naryan-Mar that serves italian and japanese cuisine and people really love it not asking for more. All the gastronomic experts say that there is no need for adding local northern dishes to the menu, so we haven't insisted: we have Frigate for that. Though we understood that the brand had to be updated for sure. Title was pretty cool from the beginning for Nenetsky region, that has seven lighthouses on its northern shores. But it was nowhere manifested. Moreover, people even couldn't recognize the title in russian without proper translation and description.

A few months since the rebranding and we have a nice set of menus ready and tremendous plans ahead
Logo
First, the title became cyrillic because people have allergy for the latin. Second, we took the first letter "Л" from the title that looks like the triangle and it almost contains a lighthouse image inside. Third, all the images remained rounded to minimize the grungy vibe which wasn't suited much to the restaurant family community.
Logically speaking, we had to translate Lighthouse to Маяк, but residents were familiar with the how the title sounds, so we left Лайтхаус instead, though it looks doubtful.

Concept & slogan
Lighthouse may sound familiar, though people who're not into english, do not understand what does it mean, so we had to translate it and put in slogan. Anyway it's not so difficult, because this place is all about it:
Food and lighthouses
Sounds unexpected, yet even this easy recognizable slogan was needed to be described for the staff, who also were unaware of lighthouses. Astonishing sharp as an autumn straw artist Katya Antoshkina has drawn every one of the regional lighthouses.
My delicate clinking design conveys the spirit of the northern lighthouses, standing alone on the desolate shores of the Arctic Ocean. I was impressed by the story of one of them, which stood for almost a hundred years and burned down in a careless accident in 2019. I would like to draw more attention to this little-known architectural heritage.

Illustrations
Minimalistic illustrations made by Katya, will soon replace all the kitschy artwork that got adorned the walls of the cafe, including pastoral views of Paris. We also use them in menu, our first implementation of the new brand.
The essence of the place: food and lighthouses
Menu
Easy to maintain on their own, example of a clean and minimalism design, with a pinch of illustrations. Tall tower layouts and colored stripes is a reference to the lighthouses colorings.

Interiors
We had a careful and attentive work on the existing interiors, that were slightly, yet confidently fully redesigned. It could be called a cosmetic repairs, that can be achieved without closing the main hall to the public.

Patterns
Patterns handle with souveniers and all the things, that you cannot plan before you need to have the final design by tomorrow morning. All those packaging papers, textiles, backgrounds will get a dreamy and pretty existential pattern which we made in two versiona: one for polar nights and one for polar days.
Lighthouse in real life
As of 2023, Lighthouse is still a very young project, so little yet had been made it to the reality. We began with the menus, and slowly pass by to other things. There are actually dozens of them. Will stay in touch and add new photos here when we'll get 'em.

The restaurant business in the region is developing and this cannot but please lovers of delicious food. Lighthouse is the fourth restaurant we've been working on. We continue to invite outside chiefs from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk and other regions. New brand will take a closer look to tourist audience and make a precise view of the regional features.
