So many projects, so many plans that you just need a virtual city to experiment with and we've made it. Walk across the historical center and even fly above it — do whatever you wish: add new objects, take photos, videos and imagine them implemented. The best way to share your ideas with the administration. Same project implemented in many capital cities, including Moscow, and now Naryan-Mar got one, too.

Our friends from Next.Space made a miracle: took million photos of every building in the historical center, edited them properly and then attentively and responsibly modelled every object on the map. All in time and all succesfully. Speaking technicaly, it uses Unreal Engine.

This virtual city have saved us tons of time on experimenting, showing, presenting and telling stories about the city for the governer and his team. With the help of this city, we can create help videos of how to get somewhere or make interactive things here and there.

In short, why it's awesome:

Add new art objects, graffiti, wayfinding elements, urban objects of any kind, test and not worry about сonsequences.

When working on wayfinding system or town guidelines — no need to waste time on town illustrations, schematics, etc.

Great way to present your work to administration those making decisions easily and interactively.

Can be used in gaming, tourist attractions, video, advertisment and in other IT solutions.

In long, our use case.

We had been asked to create a concept set of artobjects, that had been roughly sketched and needed to be visualized well for presenting results to the town administration, investors and local residents. These were some of the ideas. We couldn't show them this way to all the people interested, they needed to be rendered realistic way and integrated into the town space.

Round wooden benches resemble a set of northern berries you could pick up in tundra. Planned to be put next to one of the cafe. Blueberries, cranberries, cloudberries, etc. We called it "The Wildberries Necklace"

Multi-leveled benches, that we called the "Drifing Ice". Were planned to be put next to the house, that was called Titanic.

An interactive musical art object in which you are invited to extract magical sounds from the khang. Benches can be placed around the object, continuing the spiral rhythm of the drawing on the khang itself.

The birdhouse installation for kids, with ladders inside and dozens of windows. Placed next to the residential building with the same title, widespread amond the residents.

The blue lamp art object had to be put near another residential building with the same name, that got it after the roof color and the facade facing elements.

Voila!

All the objects are modelled in Blender and integrated into the town space pretty fast. Then its possible to record a video, or let anyone walk around and observe all the objects from the perspecitve of a pedestrian.
