NAO Lore museum
Lore museum rebranding
Lore museum was the most visited museum in Naryan-Mar ever. Actually, there were only two museums in the town, where the second one was the Pustozerk museum. We started working with Pustozersk before and it was a success: we found out that it could became a symbol of the minimalistic philosophy of the region we were developing. But we haven't been integrated in the life of the lore museum until one day we had been asked to make a slight redesign of its identity.

Client: NAO Museum Association

Work: Branding

2020
Task was to renew and actualize the current logo which was a traditional nenets bag. Our idea was not to touch it at all and just to renew the image. Too many details didn't allow it to be set in small scales, so we immediately liked the mini logo: more abstract, yet more bright and modern.

Logo: before
It was obvious, that when you speak about traditional something, you'd better watch your back, otherwise you'd be called a graphic barbarian, who doesn't treat history with care.

Always have to think about logo the size of the icon
How are they used?
Museum uses both logos at once. When you have to speak about the large logo, take the bag. When something more minimalistic, then you can't go wrong with the abstract one. For example, this is their vk:
Pushkin from the Pushkin card looks precisely at the new logo
A group of reindeers chases the abstract logo in tundra
Lore Museum brand usage is very limited. After the NAO museum association was established, the united logo was more important for us to be used everywhere, so this branding remained almost unnoticed.
