Rebranding of Monchegorsk Development Agency
Making agency lake again
Monchegorsk Development Agency commisioned us to make branding project for town was later that it was created in town. Moreover, it had its own brand developed and expectedly it had nothing in common with the newly developed town brand. Problem was that it was so well presented all around town events and everywhere in media that people could mess it up with the town branding that was still very new and shy. It was a real challenge on how to connect two brands together in the most discreet and less painful way, probably without people even noticing?

We had more that 4 brands in total, where it had to be only 1. One was the legacy brand with the moose, town administration loved. Another one was very intrusive MDA brand, and the newly made touristic brand, that sounds like visit-imandra. And there, the fourth one, was our town brand. Too much for one small town. Our aim was to overlap them.

BRAND STRATEGIST
Original design was plain and geometric with references to Saami ornaments. That was ok by itself, but we had to connect it mentally with our town brand. We've contacted with Katya, the designer of the original brand asked her to create the original typeset she used in logo to be able to used separately. While she was doing that, we've stretched her perfect circles accordingly to our guidelines.

Department colors
There were 4 main departments in the Agency as of 2023 and they had their own color palletes. We've slightly touched it so that nobody could notice the changes. While yellow stayed out of the range of allowed colors, it highlighted nicely across all other town projects.

Agency type and the iconset
The original type in logo was part of design and couldn't be used separately. Katya Kadasheva updated the type and made it self-sufficient. Viktor Krasovsky has drawn amazing iconset that suits perfectly with the type. Match!

Lots of presentations
If there is something it all was worth for, then it is design of the corporate presentations. Agency work consists of constant communication, sharing experience and reports. Viktor Krasovsky, the pride of the design, has developed the templates that allow to create a new layout

Agency style
Simple mixture of the warm yellow flat color, rocks with logo placed on any object is immediately recognized as something that is somehow belongs to the Agency.
