Buses and microbuses stay one of the most reliable ways to get to our out of Monchegorsk if not speaking about taxi or personal car. According to the regional governor program on upgrading the bus tranport routes in Murmansk Oblast, Monchegorsk got lots of new bus routes and new fancy bus stops. Together with Monchegorsk Development Agency we have decided to release our own unique bus route maps, according to the aesthetical preferences of the lake brand. Our aim was to create informative and easy to read, yet pleasantly looking maps for people to find a way in any kind of an arctic bliss.

Besides the tidious work of connecting pasta-like color routes together, there had been a request for the recognizable objects in town. We have taken more than 20 for this map where they play a secondary role.

There had been a challenge to design the main Monchegorsk square in the shape of oval. I really liked the shape of 12 lines hugging each other. But unwinding of this ball made it totally confusing for reading a map and I got rid of this idea with a simple straightforward ovelapping.

Transport maps is not a thing that catches people attention. It's a humble instrument that just works and it's that beauty that it brings. Well, people not calling it a shit in social media, which means the job had been done pretty fine.
